Discoveries of a new registered "user" on this site

After logging in, I clicked on "create content" in my account box. I see I can create several different types of things. I'm not sure what they all mean, but I do understand "Blog" becasue I created one earlier and now I'm 'submitting a personal blog entry'. to see how it looks when I re-visit this site.

I see that I can also create "quotes" so I can type a heading into the 'title' box, pick the relevant topic, then scroll down to the little "box" that lets me type in whatever text I want to submit to this site.

Anybody can submit "comments" at the bottom of a page of text, but when I do it as an authorized user, my Username appears along with my submission. I understand that comments by an anonymous user must be 'published' by an administrator who reviews the comment and decides whether the comment is suitable for posting.

The "Blog" of George, a newcomer who registered as a "user" here.

The purpose of my writings here is to share my discoveries about this unusual website with other newcomers.

To get here, I opened an account, then got my password by e-mail - I promptly changed the website-generated password to something more to my liking by going to the page on my account.

I then found that I can see and do things on this website that are not available to the unregistered "anonymous visitor".

As a Registered User, I can now log in and create my own "blog" - whatever that is. I think I'll use my first blog as a logbook of my discoveries as I wander about this site, exploring both the content - the text presented by others - and the features. The features seem pretty powerful, complicated, and sometimes confusing. More later....
