Recommendation: take advantage of RealPlayer (free software) and the availablity of hundreds of good (and free) "A.A. Speaker tapes" available on the Internet.
You can
(1.) play them as streaming audio, or better yet,
(2.) download files, save them to your hard disk and listen to them whenever you wish, and, best of all
(3.) "burn" your own CDs to take with you or give to friends!
Here's how to start:
- scroll down to this file: MyersR-Iceland
- place your mouse cursor on that text, right click the mouse button, and select "Save File As" and then choose a place to save it - consider creating an "AA Audios" folder because you will almost certainly get in the habit of doing this.
- If you don't have "RealPlayer" software, you can download it for free - by going to the website of the Primary Purpose Group of Spartanburg, SC, (a GREAT site worth visiting!) -- scroll down the page, look for the realplayer logo in the right hand column -- see www.aaprimarypurpose.org/rotation/speakers2.htm alternatively, go to the source: www.real.com/
- Oh. While at the South Carolina site, be sure to download (right click) Charlie P's story -- best intro I've heard for a newcomer: Charlie P., Maysville, Ark., 1986 - "Charlie" of the Joe and Charlie Big Book Tapes tells his story.
- and then, tune into Chris R., Ingram Texas at the Primary Purpose Group of Dallas' 16th Anniversary 3/04 -- This is a recording of a memorable speaker meeting - Myers introduces Cliff (his sponsor). After giving the history of the PPG, Cliff introduces Chris (Myers' twin brother)
