AA meetings on the ANMC Campus
Monday and Friday, 6:30pm to 8pm in the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) at 4315 Diplomacy Drive, located 600 feet northeast of Tudor Road at Bragaw Street.
These meetings focus on learning and practicing the AA 12-Step Program of Recovery presented in the Basic Text of Alcoholics Anonymous - everything from the Foreword to Page 164 plus the Appendices in the back of the Big Book. We talk about the solution, not war stories and the problem du jour - no drunkalogs or talk of the day's complaints.
Please join us if your goals are to:
● Study the lessons of the Co-Founders of Alcoholics Anonymous and the teachings of the "first one hundred" alcoholics who recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body by taking a spiritual path that produces personality changes needed to remove the obsession to take the drink that leads to uncontrollable binges, misery and remorse.
● Learn How the First 100 applied the First 11 Steps that gave them a Spiritual Awakening that produces a better life than most people can imagine.
● Carry The Message To Still - Suffering Alcoholics, including patients of the Alaska Native Medical Center and others who wish to learn more about the AA 12-Step Program of Recovery. Our A.A. members cooperate with the health care professionals of the Alaska Native Medical center, always respecting the policies and wishes of ANMC and the patients.
● Follow and Teach the Path Of the "First 100" who enjoyed recovery rates in excess of 75%, approaching 95% or better when using the techniques developed by Dr. Bob of Akron and his students, including Clarence S. of Cleveland.
● Rely heavily on the information and convictions presented by "Joe and Charlie" and on the Internet Websites of the Primary Purpose Group of Dallas, Texas, the Primary Purpose Group of Spartanburg, South Carolina, "Barefoot Bob", and the Men's Step Application Group of Bellevue, Washington. (visit www.route164.net for links to these other sites)
● These are "open meetings" -- anyone interested in alcoholism and Alcoholics Anonymous is welcome so long as they confine their comments to matters pertaining to recovery from alcoholism. We welcome newcomers and family members!
