An A.A. Dream - Bill R.'s first Blog Entry

I Have An A.A. Dream (2005)

Not just in my group or my town. This dream is for The Planet Earth. And not a dream like an illusion or fantasy. This Dream is Real. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, too. He is the inspiration for my dream. He believed in The Dream with all his being. And, he didn’t have to fight with anyone or anything. He simply took a stand.

People said he was crazy. Friends and family begged him to stop. He often thought of quitting, taking the easier, softer way. He considered it, but felt divinely inspired to keep the dream alive. He even knew he would someday be assassinated for taking his stand, for speaking the truth.

George's discovery - "Blogs" are shown last-entry first - oldest below.

Ahh, a discovery: I logged into my account, created a new "blog", logged out, then came back to create a new entry in my blog, After logging out, I found that the blogs are printed in reverse order - sort of. If I were writing a journal, diary or logbook, my next entry would start on the blank lines below my last writing. In this case, the software running this website posts the latest item at the top of the stack of blog entries...like a pile of papers I stack on my desk - the old ones are at the bottom of the pile, the latest one at the top. OK. That's cool. I'll take that into consideration when I type a few words in the 'title' line as I begin creating my blog entry.

Discoveries of a new registered "user" on this site

After logging in, I clicked on "create content" in my account box. I see I can create several different types of things. I'm not sure what they all mean, but I do understand "Blog" becasue I created one earlier and now I'm 'submitting a personal blog entry'. to see how it looks when I re-visit this site.

I see that I can also create "quotes" so I can type a heading into the 'title' box, pick the relevant topic, then scroll down to the little "box" that lets me type in whatever text I want to submit to this site.

Anybody can submit "comments" at the bottom of a page of text, but when I do it as an authorized user, my Username appears along with my submission. I understand that comments by an anonymous user must be 'published' by an administrator who reviews the comment and decides whether the comment is suitable for posting.

The "Blog" of George, a newcomer who registered as a "user" here.

The purpose of my writings here is to share my discoveries about this unusual website with other newcomers.

To get here, I opened an account, then got my password by e-mail - I promptly changed the website-generated password to something more to my liking by going to the page on my account.

I then found that I can see and do things on this website that are not available to the unregistered "anonymous visitor".

As a Registered User, I can now log in and create my own "blog" - whatever that is. I think I'll use my first blog as a logbook of my discoveries as I wander about this site, exploring both the content - the text presented by others - and the features. The features seem pretty powerful, complicated, and sometimes confusing. More later....
